Yes, the Democratic Convention ended with a bang as they shot off fireworks after Obama’s acceptance speech at Invesco Field -Mile High Stadium. After hosting tens of thousands of delegates, media people and protesters, Denver rebounded nicely to celebrate the Labor Day Weekend with the annual Taste of Colorado Festival. Held in Civic Center Park and the surrounding area, the festival will attract thousands to the Downtown Metro area for festivities, fun and, of course, food.

At the close of the first day of the DNC, we can report the police presence to be significant, the protesters robust, the media omnipresent and the general mood of the people on the streets energized (see Photo Gallery). Hillary supporters present, but minimal. Hillary will give her speech Tuesday and we will see if her supporters become more visible and vocal.
We wound down the night watching Michelle Obama’s compelling speech and the Obama children’s playful antics. By the end we were both in tears.
