Denver’s Dem Con 08 is an “uncredentialed” blog (whatever that means), the goal of which is to chronicle the events leading up to, and surrounding, the 2008 Democratic Convention, while offering a unique perspective on the events of the day via posts by two transplanted New Yorkers both with backgrounds in the nonprofit sector who have resided (off and on) here in the Metro Denver area for a combined twenty plus years.

Holding to the belief that “a picture is worth a thousand words” the blog makes liberal use of photography, in addition to incorporating music (original, and otherwise), one-on-one interviews with whoever will sit down to talk to us (I think that’s what “uncredentialed” means—i.e., we very likely won’t have access to the major press events.)

But that’s okay, because it is our desire to give you a perspective from the man/woman-on-the street. . .  You know, everyday people who have a vested interest in the events that make up the convention, from protesters, to politicians; from locals to tourists.

In a word, if you desire “comprehensive media coverage and analysis from the floor of the 2008 Democratic Convention,” you won’t get it here.  Instead, you will get a healthy dose of reality, unvarnished and acerbic, commentary on the day’s events (and a bit more) from the local, life-in-Denver, perspective.

We hope you appreciate the view, and we invite you to share your thoughts and commentary.
